Conformal Fuel Tanks
Conformal Fuel Tanks, abbreviated to as CFTs, are an optional fuel tank attachment available to the F/A-26B. Unlike regular External Fuel Tanks, the CFT is attached to its own unique Hardpoint and cannot be jettisoned.
The Conformal Fuel Tank allows the F/A-26B to hold an extra 6400L of fuel.
This has the main benefit of increasing the F/A-26B's flight time as well as having a minimal effect on the aerodynamics and RCS as opposed to any External Fuel Tanks. Equipping the CFT also allows for more weapons to be taken on the hardpoints which would normally be occupied by the aforementioned drop tanks.
However, due to the added weight of the CFT, the aircraft becomes noticeably more difficult to control and is therefore limited in its ability to do quick manoeuvres or dogfight effectively.
