MWS Blindspots

The launch detection blindspots are pretty important (to have accurate) so here is the info that I've found so far, looking around my ripped unity project.

F26

The F26 seems to have 3 launch detectors one facing forward and down, one facing back down left and one facing back down right. As far as I can tell the only blindspot is directly above the aircraft.

AV-42C

The AV42C seems to have a similar configuration with one facing forward down, one facing back down left and one facing back down right. As far as I can tell the only blindspot is directly above the aircraft.

F45A

The F45A seems to be the outlier with 4 launch detectors. One facing directly up, one forward down, one back down left and one back down right. As far as I can tell the 45 has no blindspots in its launch detection system.

T-55 (added in post)

The T-55 seems to have a similiar layout to the 26 and 42. Detectors facing forward down, back down left, back down right. As far as I can tell the only blindspot is directly above the aircraft.

AH-94 (added in post post)

The AH-94 seems to have the same layout as the 26, 42 and 55. Detectors facing forward down, back down left, back down right. As far as I can tell the only blindspot is directly above the aircraft.

EF-24G (added in post post)

The EF-24G seems to have the same layout as the 94, 26, 42 and 55. Detectors facing forward down, back down left, back down right. As far as I can tell the only blindspot is directly above the aircraft.

Notes

  • I'm no expert on VTOL VR or its internals. As far as I can tell this information is correct though.
  • I have not yet confirmed any of this experimentally.
  • The Freedomplaza manual corroborates the F26 info, however it contradicts the F45A info. There is no manual for the AV-42C.
  • PS: The T-55 manual claims that there's two blindspots. The 94 and 24 manuals corroborate my info.
  • If anyone has experimental data on the F45A blindspots I'm all ears.

I checked with some VTOL experts (namely Chase) and they confirmed that your T-55 information is correct. However, the F-45 does have a couple small blindspots on the sides. I will update the article. Thanks!
